Cowgenic.ai ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Cowgenic.ai website and mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

• Email address and password when you create an account, or your Google account email and name when you sign in with Google.

Content you submit

• Photos and videos of your animals that you upload for AI health analysis.
• Messages and questions you send to the AI Vet Chat, including any details about your animals.
• Ranch location data, such as addresses, map coordinates, and fence boundaries you draw, used for satellite pasture analysis.

Payment information

• Subscriptions are processed by PayPal. We never see or store your credit card or bank details — we only receive your subscription status and a subscription identifier from PayPal.

Automatically collected information

• Basic technical data such as IP address, browser or device type, and session cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect the Service from abuse.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the Service: AI veterinary guidance, photo and video health analysis, and satellite pasture audits.
• To create and manage your account and subscription.
• To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits.
• To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content for advertising.

3. How Your Content Is Processed (AI Services)

To generate analyses, the content you submit (chat messages, photos, video frames, and location data) is sent to third-party AI providers — currently Google Gemini and OpenRouter — for processing. Location input may also be resolved through mapping and weather services to build your pasture report. These providers process the data to return results and are bound by their own privacy policies.

4. Data Sharing

We share information only with the service providers necessary to run Cowgenic.ai:

• Google (sign-in and AI processing)
• OpenRouter (AI processing fallback)
• PayPal (subscription payments)
• Mapping, geocoding, and weather providers (satellite audit features)
• Our hosting and database infrastructure

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Cowgenic.ai and its users.

5. Data Retention

Account information is kept for as long as your account exists. Uploaded photos and video frames are processed to generate your analysis and are not kept longer than needed for that purpose. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Contact below).

6. Data Security

All traffic to the Service is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and access to our systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• Access or update — you can view your account details in the app.
• Delete — you can request deletion of your account and data by contacting us.
• Cancel — you can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing page; access continues until the end of the paid period.

Depending on where you live (for example, California residents under the CCPA), you may have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to request its deletion.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for ranchers and livestock professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Not Veterinary Advice

Cowgenic.ai provides AI-generated guidance for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for the diagnosis and treatment of sick animals.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
